In 2021, Cinos announced that we were recognised as a Living Wage Employer. Two years later we are celebrating our accreditation anniversary and our continued commitment to the Living Wage movement.

Cinos are delighted celebrate our 2 year anniversary as a Living Wage Accredited Employer. Learn more about the Living Wage and why we support it.

What is the real Living Wage?

For those unaware, the real Living Wage was created in 2011 by the Living Wage Foundation and is the only UK wage rate based on living costs. It is an hourly rate that is calculated annually by the Resolution Foundation and overseen by the Living Wage Commission, based on the best available evidence about living standards in London and the UK. It is voluntarily paid by over 12,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs.

It gives me immense pride that Cinos have been acknowledged as a Living Wage employer since 2021. This initiative has undoubtedly been one of the most impactful endeavours we have embraced, and we have seen first-hand what a difference paying the Living Wage makes. We hope that by doing our bit to raise awareness we will inspire other businesses to join us in creating a working environment that is fair and enriching for all.

Why Cinos is a Living Wage Accredited Employer

Cinos have always been committed to our people, reflected both as a Living Wage Employer and by our Investors in People Gold accreditation. We truly believe in delivering excellence in everything we do, and our people are an intrinsic part of this ethos. Our core values have been shaped to achieve excellence and include principles on culture, integrity, equality, dedication, team spirit, quality, passion, and collaboration. We are committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable working environment for our employees, and paying the real Living Wage is a key element in achieving this.

Lisa Ballard, People Associate at Cinos added: “Over the last year we have seen one of our busiest periods in terms of recruitment. We want to attract the best talent and by paying a wage that people can live on, especially at a time when we are experiencing a cost-of-living crisis, demonstrates the value we place in our workforce. I take great pride in being associated with the distinction of being a Living Wage employer, and it is a topic I enthusiastically engage with when conversing with potential candidates.”
