We’re proud to share that Cinos has been recertified for Cyber Essentials Plus for the fifth consecutive year, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to robust cyber security practices and the protection of our customers’ data.
Launched in 2014, Cyber Essentials is a government-backed certification scheme designed to help organisations protect against common cyber threats. It is overseen by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), the UK’s authority on cyber security, with the IASME Consortium acting as the official certification body responsible for managing assessments, accrediting certification partners, and ensuring the scheme is delivered with consistency and integrity.
Charlie Miller, IT Service Manager at Cinos commented: “In an increasingly complex digital world, achieving Cyber Essentials Plus is more important than ever. With threats like phishing, ransomware, and data breaches on the rise, this certification gives our customers confidence that we are a trusted organisation with robust cyber security measures in place.”
As part of the Cyber Essentials Plus assessment, Darren Kewley from Protos Networks, an IASME-approved certification body, carried out a detailed, hands-on technical audit to verify that Cinos had the required cyber security controls and processes firmly in place.
We were delighted to recently support Cinos through Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Cyber Essentials certification is a critical benchmark for any organisation, especially Cinos, which supports Critical National Infrastructure (CNI).
Cinos sailed through the assessment process, demonstrating a strong understanding of the Cyber Essentials requirements and a deep commitment to maintaining high levels of cyber resilience. It was a pleasure working with the Cinos team. We congratulate them on their certification and look forward to an ongoing security partnership. |

According to the NCSC, UK businesses experienced an estimated 7.7 million cyber crimes over the past year. Cyber Essentials helps organisations reduce their risk by ensuring five key technical controls are in place: secure configuration of devices, controlled user access, protection against malware, regular security updates, and the use of firewalls to safeguard the network perimeter.
Cyber Essentials Plus sets a high bar for cyber security, and I’m proud that we continue to meet it. As a trusted technology partner to many organisations, particularly those in the public sector, maintaining this certification is of the upmost importance. I’d like to thank Charlie and the wider team for their continued focus and commitment to securing our digital infrastructure. |
