Job Purpose
The Junior Developer supports the development of web applications across the frontend and backend, gaining hands-on experience with Laravel, Vue.js, and React. The role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career developers looking to build their technical skills in a supportive engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development of backend features using PHP and Laravel.
Support frontend development using Vue.js and React.
Work on bug fixes, testing tasks, and small feature enhancements.
Collaborate with team members to understand system requirements and user stories.
Write readable and maintainable code with guidance from senior developers.
Engage in code reviews and learning sessions.
Contribute to documentation and QA processes.
Gain familiarity with tools such as Docker, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.
Demonstrate consistent learning progress and receptiveness to feedback
Skills & Experience
Essential
Basic knowledge of PHP and familiarity with frameworks like Laravel.
Some experience with JavaScript and frontend frameworks (Vue.js, React).
Understanding of HTML, CSS, and general web development concepts.
Willingness to learn and contribute in a team setting.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and debugging tools.
Desirable
Exposure to databases (e.g., MySQL) and basic CRUD operations.
Understanding of RESTful APIs.
Any experience using Docker or CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI).
Completed coursework, bootcamps, or personal projects in web development.
Qualifications
Degree, diploma, or bootcamp experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Open to graduates and early-career professionals.
Working Conditions
Fully remote with flexibility. Core working hours are 9:00am–5:30pm UK time, with flexibility depending on team needs. Occasional in-person meetings or site visits for planning, team-building, or learning opportunities (advance notice provided).
